What the AI reads for a project

Before the AI writes anything for a project, it reads the project's Context: your notes, and the files marked available to it. Open Context from the search box.

NotesFree text about the project — background, terminology, requirements, house style. Anything that is not in a file. Click Save context when you change it.
Files the AI readsThe project's files, each with a switch saying whether the AI uses it. Only files switched on are sent.

Files are on unless you switch them off

A document you upload is available to the AI as soon as it has been read — usually within a minute. Files with no text to read, such as photos and video, start switched off. What the AI can read

Switch a file off when you want to keep it in the project without it shaping what the AI writes: an old draft, a competitor's document, a client's raw notes.

One switch, two screens

The switches on Context are the same setting as available to the AI in Data Management. Each file has one switch; the two screens show it in two places.

Add files on Context uploads straight into the project. Organise them into folders afterwards in Data Management.

The AI seems to ignore a document? Check its switch here, then open it in Data Management and check that its row says Read in full.
Speak instead of typing. The boxes here that the AI reads have a microphone beside them: press it, talk, and pause; the text lands in the box for you to check. Speaking instead of typing
