Letting visitors ask about a project

A visitor reading one of your published projects can ask questions about it, from a bubble at the bottom right that opens into a pane.

It comes on when you publish

A published project answers questions by default. The switch is per project, in Public reach on the project's Overview, beside a daily limit — $2.00 a day unless you change it — and what has been spent today. A draft project never answers.

Anyone with the publisher role or above can turn it off there at any time. Once you have set it, it stays that way — publishing again does not turn it back on.

You pay for the answers

Answers are billed to your account and appear in your usage as Questions on your public projects, separate from your own use. When the daily limit is reached, or the balance runs out, the assistant tells visitors it cannot answer until the next day. Each visitor is also limited in how fast they can ask.

It only knows that one project

The assistant reads that project's published datasets, charts and documents, and nothing else: not your other projects, not other people's, not the web, not your account. It tells visitors so.

It doesn't know about something? Then it isn't published in that project. Publish it and the assistant can use it straight away.
