Plans and the free trial
A VeraGen plan is a monthly or annual subscription for your account, with every app included. You start one yourself from Start a free trial on the sign-in page, and the first 14 days are free.
The plans
| Solo | One person. $99 a month. |
|---|---|
| Team | 2 to 10 people. $69 per person a month. |
| Business | 11 to 50 people. $69 per person a month for the first 10 people, then $55 per person a month for everyone after that. |
| Enterprise | More than 50 people, on a custom annual contract. Email VeraGen support (hello@veragen.ai) to arrange it. |
Annual billing costs ten times the monthly price: two months free. Every plan includes every app, and no feature in the hub is limited to one plan: per-person monthly caps, for example, work on every plan.
Start a free trial
- On the sign-in page, click Start a free trial under the sign-in box. You can also start from Pricing on veragen.ai: each plan's Start free trial opens the sign-up with that plan, and Monthly or Annual as chosen on Pricing, already selected.
- Choose Solo, Team or Business, Monthly or Annual, and how many people, or check the choice you arrived with. The price after the trial is shown underneath.
- Sign up with Google or with your email. With Google: click Continue with Google and choose your Google account. Back on VeraGen, add your company if you like, tick the box to accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and click Continue to add a card. With your email: enter your name, your work email, a password (at least 10 characters, with a lowercase letter and a number) and, if you like, your company, tick the box to accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and click Create my account.
- Signing up with your email only: a six-digit code is emailed to you from noreply@veragen.ai. Type it into the box on the same page and click Confirm and add a card. The code expires after 15 minutes.
- Add a card on Stripe's secure payment page. Nothing is charged today.
- When the page says Your trial has started, you are taken to your Dashboard, already signed in.
Your new account has $5.00 of AI credit to start with. You are its owner. You are given a username made from your name; you can change it on My Profile.
If your Google address already has a VeraGen sign-in, Continue with Google opens that account instead of starting a new one.
During and after the trial
- Your plan, and the date the trial ends, are shown at the top of Account → Billing.
- You can add more AI credit during the trial in the usual way. See Adding credit.
- When the trial ends, the card is charged for the plan and the subscription carries on monthly or annually. Credit still in the balance stays there.
- Three days before the trial ends, the owner (and any admin with billing access) gets an email with the date and the amount that will be charged.
- If a payment fails, the account keeps working for 7 days while the card is updated. See If a payment fails below.
If a payment fails
- The owner, and every admin the owner has given billing access, get an email, and a bar at the foot of every page says the payment did not go through and by when to fix it.
- Open Account → Billing, click Subscription & invoices and update the card. Stripe tries the payment again over the next few days.
- Everything keeps working for 7 days. Two days before they run out, another email says when the account becomes read-only.
If the payment has still not gone through after 7 days, the account becomes read-only and an email says so.
If the plan was stopped
If the card is still refused after Stripe's last try, Stripe may stop the plan altogether. An email says so, and Account → Billing shows Payment failed — your plan was stopped. Everything keeps working until the 7 days of grace are over; after that the account is read-only. Nothing is deleted, and you do not have to choose a plan again:
- The owner, or an admin with billing access, opens Account → Billing and clicks Update card and resume.
- Add a card on Stripe's secure page. Nothing is charged there.
- Back on Billing, check what will be charged and to which card, then click Charge … and resume.
The plan restarts with the same plan and billing (monthly or annual), for the people the account has today, with no free trial: the first payment is charged now, and the plan renews from today. As soon as that payment goes through, the account works again and the month's included AI usage is added. If the card is declined, nothing changes and nothing is charged; click Update card and resume again to use another card.
A read-only account
A read-only account keeps all its data. Everyone on it can still:
- sign in and read everything: projects, pages, documents, results and reports;
- export and download;
- open Account → Billing, add credit, update the card under Subscription & invoices, or change the payment method;
- report an issue.
Nothing new can be made or changed, AI and workflows do not run, and nothing runs on a schedule: scheduled posts, automations, feeds and newsletters wait. Trying to change something shows a message saying the account is read-only and why. A scheduled post that fell due while the account was read-only goes out once it is put right.
As soon as the payment goes through, everything works again.
Cancelling
The owner, or an admin with billing access, cancels from Subscription & invoices. Cancelling stops the plan at the end of the period you have paid for (or, during the free trial, at the end of the trial, with nothing charged).
- An email confirms the cancellation and the last day.
- Until then everything keeps working, and Account → Billing shows Cancelled with the date. To change your mind, renew under Subscription & invoices before that date.
- After the last day the account becomes read-only, as described above, and an email says the plan has ended. Nothing is deleted. To start again, open Account → Billing and click Restart plan: it works exactly like Update card and resume above (add a card, check the price, confirm), with no free trial, and the first payment charged now.
Included AI usage
Every paid month comes with AI usage included: $25 on Solo, and $20 per person on Team and Business, shared by everyone in the account. On an annual plan it arrives every month too, not once a year.
- It is added to the account's balance as Included monthly AI usage on the day each paid month starts. The first one arrives when the trial ends and the first payment goes through; the trial itself comes with the $5.00 starter credit instead.
- Usage always spends the included amount first. Credit you added yourself is only used once the month's included usage has run out.
- Included usage does not carry over. When the month ends, whatever is left of it is removed from the balance as Unused included usage expired. Credit you added yourself is never removed.
- If a person is added part-way through a month, the extra $20 is added straight away for the part of the month that is left. Removing someone does not take any back.
- Account → Billing shows this month's included amount, how much has been used and how much is left. Both lines appear on your monthly statement.
Who counts as a person on your plan
Everyone who can sign in to the account is a paid seat, whatever their role (owner, admin, publisher or member). People you have disabled, invitations that have not been accepted yet, and people who only take your quizzes and courses from a link, without a VeraGen sign-in, do not count.
- Solo is for one person. Team is billed for at least 2 people, even if only one is left. Business is billed for at least 11 people.
- The number changes by itself when someone accepts an invitation, is disabled or enabled, or is removed. The change is charged or credited for the rest of the billing period on your next invoice.
- An invitation cannot take the account past its plan: Solo cannot invite anyone, Team stops at 10 people and Business at 50, counting invitations still waiting. The message says which plan to change to.
Changing your plan
The owner, or an admin the owner has given billing access, can change the plan.
- Open Account → Billing.
- Under the plan line, click Change plan.
- Choose the plan and Monthly or Annual. The new price, and what changes today, are shown.
- Click Confirm change.
- Same billing interval (for example Team to Business): the unused time on your current plan is credited and the rest of the period on the new plan is charged, both on your next invoice.
- Monthly to annual, or annual to monthly: a new billing period starts today and is charged now, less the unused time on your current plan. If the card is declined, your plan stays as it was.
- During the free trial: nothing is charged; the first payment at the end of the trial is the new price.
- A plan has to fit the people in the account. To move to Solo or Team, remove people or cancel invitations first.
- The figures shown before you confirm are close estimates; the invoice from Stripe is exact and adds any tax.
Subscription & invoices
On a plan account, Account → Billing has a Subscription & invoices button. It opens Stripe's secure billing page for your account, where you can:
- update the card your subscription is charged to;
- see and download your plan's invoices and receipts;
- cancel the subscription. Cancelling stops it at the end of the period you have paid for. See Cancelling above.
The plan fee is billed by Stripe and is not part of your AI balance, so it does not appear on your monthly statement; the statement names your plan instead.
The $5.00 starter credit
Each new trial account gets $5.00 of AI credit once. A card that has already been used to start a trial on another account starts the trial without the starter credit.
If something goes wrong
| The code does not arrive | Check your spam folder, then click send a new code under the code box. If the address already has a VeraGen sign-in, the email says so and tells you where to sign in instead of sending a code. |
|---|---|
| "That code is not right, or it has expired" | Use the code from the most recent email; each new code replaces the one before. After five wrong codes, click send a new code. |
| You closed the page before adding a card | Sign in with the email and password you chose. The hub shows Add a card to start your trial. |
| "Too many attempts" | Wait a while and try again. |
| "Temporary mailboxes cannot start a trial" | Use an email address you will keep. |
| You signed in but see "Add a card to start your trial" | The trial starts when a card is added. Click Add a card and start the trial. Until then the account cannot be used. A sign-up that has no card after 7 days is closed, and you can start again with the same email address. |
| "This account is read-only" | Its payment did not go through, or its plan was stopped or has ended. Ask the owner, or an admin with billing access, to open Account → Billing. See A read-only account and If the plan was stopped above. |
Joining a team instead
If your team already has a VeraGen account, you do not need a plan of your own: ask its owner or an admin to invite you from Account → Team & members.
Accounts that pay as they go from a prepaid balance work exactly as described in Credit & how billing works.
