Chat & Research

Editing an existing prototype

Any prototype in a project can be opened in Chat & Research and changed by chatting — whether it was built there or uploaded from a file.

Open it

On the project's Prototypes page, open the prototype's ⋮ menu and choose Edit in Chat & Research. It loads as the starting point, with the project's notes, documents and Brand Kit in use. Describe your changes, then click Publish.

Publishing it again

Publishing an edited prototype saves over the same prototype, at the same address, so links you have shared keep working. Only the person who first published it can do that.

If something goes wrong

A prototype with that name was published by someone else.Someone else published this prototype, so you cannot save over it. Change the Name in the Publish dialog to publish your version as a new prototype.

You already have a prototype named "…". Choose a different name, or open that prototype with Open to change it.A prototype tab that has never been published makes a new prototype, so it cannot take the name of one you already have and replace it. Change the Name, or use Open on a prototype tab to open that prototype and change it there.
Showing the live version of "…" on the right. The prototype's source could not be loaded, so it is shown read-only. Describe what you want and Chat & Research builds a new version from scratch.
