Projects
Deleting a project, closing an account
Deleting a project, or closing an account, permanently deletes what it holds within 30 days. Until then nothing is visible to anyone, and nothing can be added to it.
Deleting a project
Open the project, click the Project actions menu (⋮) beside its name, choose Delete project, then type the project’s name to confirm. Owners and admins can delete any project; publishers and members can delete the projects they created.
- The project disappears from the account at once, and anything it had published stops being public.
- Within 30 days everything in it is permanently deleted: its Data Management files, pages and their versions, Chat & Research conversations, datasets, prototypes, videos, workflows, quizzes and courses, posts, news site, and the search index the AI uses for its documents.
- A deleted project cannot be restored, so check the name before you confirm.
Deleting a single item inside a project is different: Archive and delete in Data Management moves it to the Archive, where Restore brings it back. See Data Management.
Closing an account
To close an account, the owner contacts VeraGen support at hello@veragen.ai. A sign-up that never added a card is closed after 7 days.
- A closed account cannot be used: nobody can sign in to it, and nothing it published is public.
- Within 30 days of closing, its content and the personal data in it are permanently deleted: every project as above, Thrive contacts and email, connected services and their stored credentials, team members and invitations, and reported issues.
- Anyone whose only VeraGen account it was loses their sign-in, and their name, email address and profile are removed.
- Until the deletion starts (28 days after closing), VeraGen support can reopen the account. After that it cannot be reopened.
What is kept
Billing and accounting records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require: statements as they were issued, payments, the account’s ledger and usage records, with amounts and dates but without names or email addresses. The security audit log keeps what happened and when, without names, email or IP addresses.
