Connections for automations

Connect Stripe, Calendly and Typeform1:39 videoAI Automations → Connections is where other systems start automations, and where texting is set up.
An inbound webhook
Any website, form or service that can post data can start an automation.
- Click New inbound webhook, give it a name and click Create.
- Copy the Address to paste into the other system, and the Signing secret (shown once: copy it now). The other system sends the secret as
Authorization: Bearer <secret>, or signs the body with it asX-VeraGen-Signature: sha256=<signature>. - Click Listen for a test event, then send something from the other system.
- Click Map fields and choose, for each field that arrived, what it is: the contact's email, phone or name, a deal detail, or a value to use in messages. Click Save mapping.
- In an automation, choose Inbound webhook as the trigger and pick this webhook.
Anything posted without the right secret is refused; the card shows recent refusals and why.
Stores and services
Each card under Stores and services has How to connect it with the steps for that service, and a button to connect it (for example Connect Stripe). Connecting gives you an address to paste into the service; every delivery must be signed with the connection's secret, and anything else is refused. The customer, booker or person who filled in the form becomes a contact in Thrive CRM, matched by email.
| Shopify | Order created, checkout abandoned, order fulfilled. In Shopify admin, open Settings > Notifications > Webhooks, create a webhook for each event with the address, then paste the signing key Shopify shows there. |
|---|---|
| WooCommerce | Order created, checkout abandoned, order completed. In WordPress, open WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Webhooks and add a webhook for each event with the address and the connection's secret. |
| Stripe | Payment succeeded, payment failed, subscription cancelled. In the Stripe Dashboard, open Workbench > Webhooks, click Create an event destination, choose the Snapshot payload format and the events listed on the card, choose Webhook endpoint and paste the address. Then reveal the endpoint's signing secret (it starts whsec_) and paste it on the card. One Checkout payment starts an automation once, even though Stripe reports it twice. |
| Calendly | Event booked, event cancelled. Calendly webhooks need a paid Calendly plan and are created through Calendly's API with a personal access token (in Calendly: Integrations > API & Webhooks): subscribe the address to invitee.created and invitee.canceled, with the connection's secret as the signing key. A rescheduled meeting is not treated as a cancellation. In an email, use {{trigger.event.when}} for the meeting time written out in the invitee's own time zone (for example, Wednesday, October 14 at 10:00 AM CDT); {{trigger.event.start_time}} is the raw time. |
| Typeform | Form submitted. In Typeform, open the form, go to Connect > Webhooks, click Add a webhook, paste the address, then edit the webhook to set its secret to the connection's secret and turn it on. Email, phone and name answers are found on their own; if not, use Map fields. Each answer is available as {{trigger.answers.<ref>}}, where <ref> is the question's reference in Typeform with anything other than letters, digits and underscores turned into _. A reference that the form does not have comes out empty: run history lists it under the email step's empty fields. |
Deliveries older than a few minutes (Stripe and Calendly sign the time they were sent) are refused, and the same delivery sent twice starts nothing the second time.
Store access
Some steps call the store back: Shopify: tag the customer, Shopify: add an order note and WooCommerce: add an order note. They need the store's access saved on its connection card (owners and admins): click Add next to the store access line, fill it in and click Check and save. VeraGen checks it with the store before saving. It is kept in a secure vault, and only its last four characters are shown again (for example set · ••••a1b2). Remove deletes it.
| Shopify | The store address (your-store.myshopify.com) and an Admin API access token from an app installed on your store with the scopes write_customers and write_orders, or, for an app made in the Shopify Dev Dashboard, its client ID and client secret. |
|---|---|
| WooCommerce | The store's https address and a REST API key with Read/Write permission (in WordPress: WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API > Add key): the consumer key and consumer secret. |
| Stripe | Optional. A restricted key with Customers: Read. Stripe sends only a customer's id with a cancelled subscription and with some payments; with this key VeraGen looks up the customer's email to find the contact. Without it those deliveries are skipped, and the card says why. |
If a store step gets no answer in time, it is not sent again, because it may already have gone through: the run shows the step as failed with that reason. Check the store, then use Retry this step in Run history if it is missing.
Texting (SMS)
VeraGen provides the phone number; you do not need an account with a texting company.
- An owner or admin fills in Business details for carriers (legal business name, tax ID, address, website, what you text people about and an example message) and clicks Send for registration. US carriers require this before a business can text.
- Click Get a number and choose an area code.
- When Carrier registration shows Approved (usually within a few business days), Send SMS steps can run. Email works in the meantime.
Texts go only to contacts who have agreed to receive them, never during quiet hours (see Automation settings), and never to someone who replied STOP. Each text is charged to your account and shows on Billing.
Automation emails are sent from VeraGen's sending address with your business's name, or from your own domain once you add and verify it in Automation settings, and replies go to the person you choose there. See Email in automations for templates, opens, clicks, bounces and your own domain.
