Thrive CRM

Importing from other systems

Thrive reads the files other CRMs, email tools and address books export. Export from the system below, then use Contacts → Import as in Importing contacts. A recognised export is matched by its column names; you can still change every column, and what each of its values becomes, before anything is imported. If you export from the same system again, save the mapping on the Values and choices step: the next export is offered it as Use saved mapping: <name>.

How to export from each system

HubSpotContacts → choose a view → Export, as CSV. HubSpot emails you a link to the file.
SalesforceRun a report of your leads or contacts and choose Export → Details Only → CSV, or use Setup → Data Export and import its Lead or Contact file.
PipedriveContacts → People, filter to the people you want, then … → Export filter results as CSV.
Zoho CRMSetup → Data Administration → Export, and choose Leads or Contacts.
MailchimpAudience → Export Audience. The download is a ZIP with a separate file for each status (subscribed, unsubscribed, non-subscribed and cleaned): unzip it and import each file, keeping its name, because the name is how Thrive knows that everyone in the unsubscribed, non-subscribed or cleaned file must come in opted out.
Google Contactscontacts.google.com → select the contacts or a label → Export → Google CSV (or vCard).
OutlookOutlook on the web: People → Manage contacts → Export contacts. Outlook for Windows: File → Open & Export → Import/Export → Export to a file → Comma Separated Values.
vCard (.vcf)Apple Contacts, an Android phone and most address books export one .vcf file holding many contacts. vCard 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 are read.

What Thrive takes from each

HubSpotName, email, phone and mobile, job title, company, address, Lifecycle Stage, Lead Status, original source, and Unsubscribed from all email as the email opt-out. Marketing contact status is not an opt-out and is not imported.
SalesforceName and salutation, email, phone and mobile, title, company, address, Lead Source, lead Status, Email Opt Out (HasOptedOutOfEmail) and description as a note. Open - Not Contacted is New, Working - Contacted is Connected, Closed - Converted is Qualified, Closed - Not Converted is Unqualified. A lead export suggests Leads.
PipedriveName, emails, phones, organization, job title, labels as tags, and Marketing status: Subscribed is not an opt-out; Unsubscribed, No consent and Archived are.
Zoho CRMName and salutation, email and secondary email, phone and mobile, company, title, address, Lead Source, Lead Status, Email Opt Out, description as a note, and tags. Not Contacted is New, Attempted to Contact Attempting, Contacted Connected, Contact in Future Bad timing, Pre-Qualified Qualified, and Not Qualified, Junk Lead and Lost Lead Unqualified. A leads export suggests Leads.
MailchimpEmail, name, phone, address, company, notes and TAGS. People in the subscribed file are not opted out; everyone in the unsubscribed, non-subscribed or cleaned file is. A Status column, when there is one, is read the same way: subscribed and pending are not opt-outs; unsubscribed, cleaned and non-subscribed are.
Google ContactsName and prefix, up to three emails and two phones, organization, title, department, the first address, notes, and labels as tags (Google's own "My Contacts" and "Starred" are left out).
OutlookName and title (as the prefix: Mr., Ms.), email addresses, business and mobile phone, company, department, job title, business address, categories as tags, and notes.
vCardName, emails, phones (a cell number as the mobile), organization and department, title, the work address, note, categories as tags, and birthday when it has a year. A vCard carries no opt-out information, so no one comes in opted out.

Owner columns in these exports hold a person's name, not their email, so they are left unmatched and everyone you import is yours. Match an Owner (member email) column yourself if your file has members' emails.

None of these exports says whether a person agreed to texts, so SMS consent is never set from them. It is set only from a column you match to SMS consent (agreed to texts) yourself, and never for a whole file: consent to marketing texts is each person's own answer.
